Time Springs Forward
Posted on Mar 10th, 2012
It’s time to “spring forward” by setting your clocks ahead one hour on Sunday, March 11, with the start of Daylight Saving Time. Missouri City Fire & Rescue Services reminds residents it’s also a good time to check smoke alarms. Residents are encouraged to change the batteries in their smoke detectors at least once a year. The best way to make sure the device is working is to push the “test” button until the alarm sounds.
Smoke detectors that are properly installed and maintained play a vital role in reducing fire deaths and injuries. In addition, families should prepare an emergency escape plan to allow all members to practice what they should do and where they should meet outside the home in the event of a fire.
