Recycling Holiday Trees
Holiday tree recycling will be available to Missouri City citizens again this year. Households that participate in the municipal trash program and receive solid waste collection from Republic Services can place their trees at the curb for pickup on one of these three days:
*Wednesday, Dec. 28
*Wednesday, Jan. 4
*Saturday, Jan. 7
All residents may drop off their trees at the Missouri City Recycling Center, 1919 Scanlin Rd., from Dec. 27 through Jan. 6.
Please clear all trees of decorations and stands before placing them at the curb or bringing them to the Recycling Center.
Another option is also available for those who want to assist with an Eagle Scout Project. Local teenager Stricklin Snyder is coordinating a holiday recycling tree program, whereby residents can drop their trees at the former Quail Valley Golf Course Executive 9 Clubhouse parking lot at Hampton and East Creek Club Drive on Saturday Dec. 31 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. For home pickup in the QuailValley neighborhood, please email qv.recycle@gmail.com to schedule an appointment for Friday, Dec. 30 or Sunday Jan. 1.
On another note, cooking oil cannot be dropped at the City’s Recycling Center but can be taken free of charge to the Fort BendCounty RecyclingCenter, 1200 Blume Rd., Rosenberg.
Happy Holidays!
