Kathy Quimby passed away
Posted on Dec 6th, 2011

Kathleen Mary (Dahl) Quimby, 65, daughter of Lois Dahl and the late Lawrence (Bud) Dahl, passed away Dec. 4, 2011, at her home in Houston, TX with her loving family by her side.  Kathy was born in Appleton, WI on May 6, 1946.  She attended St. Mary’s grade and high school, graduating in 1964.  After high school, Kathy moved to New York and then San Francisco working as an Administrative Assistant.  On May 9, 1970, Kathy married Darryl L. Quimby at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Menasha, WI.  They moved to Mississippi and then to Houston, where they have lived for the last 38 years.  Kathy was most proud of the many years she served the Fondren Park Community as a board member, president, and the clubhouse manager; as well as her assistance with the elderly.
Kathy is survived by her loving husband of 41 years, Darryl Quimby of Houston, TX; daughter Heather (Scott) Kolodziej and grandson Jacob of Dallas, TX; sisters Sharron (Gilbert) Mericle of Menasha, Rita Heinz and Diane (Denny) Nackers of Neenah, and Carla (Tom) Williamson of Evans, GA; sister-in-law Paula (Tim) Webb of Vero Beach, FL; many nieces and nephews; and Godfather Amby Gracyalny.  She will also be missed by her many friends.
Kathy was preceded in death by her Father, Lawrence (Bud) Dahl; Grandparents, Raymond and Viola Ulrich; In-laws, Leon and Rhoda Quimby; and Godmother, Mable Gracyalny.
The family wishes to extend their most heartfelt thanks to the wonderful staff at Memorial Hermann Southwest Hospital, 10th floor Cancer Center, University Place Nursing Center and Houston Hospice.  We would especially like to thank our sister, Rita, for her love and care of Kathy through these many months.  Better love and care could not have been given.
Memorial Service on Friday, December 09, 2011, 2:00pm - 3:00pm at Earthman Southwest Funeral Home, 12555 South Kirkwood, Stafford, TX.  Condolences may be offered at
